About:

Overview:

  • Fullerton College's Wi-Fi network covers the campus except parking lots and sports fields.
  • Fullerton College uses Eduroam as its primary Wi-Fi network for both students and employees. Eduroam is a secure, global Wi-Fi network allowing FC students and staff to access the internet on campus and at other participating institutions worldwide using their school credentials.
  • Eduroam is available to anyone with a valid account from a participating educational or research organization, including most universities, colleges, and scientific research institutions. More about Eduroam here.
  • Fullerton College also provides Guest Wi-Fi for those ineligible for Eduroam.

Troubleshooting

"I've followed all the steps above for my user type and device type but am still not able to connect. What are my options?"

  1. Ensure your device is completely up to date.
  2. Check if your FC email account is active by logging in or contacting the ACT Help Desk. Only active accounts will be able to use Eduroam.
  3. Turn off any active VPN.
  4. Ask your device to "forget" any previous Wi-Fi networks that you have used at the college.
  5. See if you can connect with your credentials using another device.
  6. Use our Guest Wi-Fi Network instead.
  7. Contact or visit the ACT Help Desk at our available hours.

FC students and staff can try using our "student Wi-Fi" or "staff Wi-Fi" networks instead, using the same instructions above for their user type and device type.

More on Eduroam

How does it work?

Eduroam uses a federated authentication model. When a user tries to connect, their credentials are securely routed back to their home institution for verification. If successful, access is granted without needing a new account or configuration at the visited location.

Why not our other Wi-Fi networks?

Eduroam offers better security and seamless roaming between institutions, while offering the same network speeds as our Student and Employee Wi-Fi networks. Guest Wi-Fi is limited in speed; access requires browser sign-ins and expire after a few days.

Guests

For all devices:

  1. After you select the guest Wi-Fi network, your device should automatically open your default web browser and direct you to the guest registration page.
    • Note: If your device browser does not open, open the browser manually and type in "www.fullcoll.edu".
  2. Follow the instructions to connect.

If registration is successful, your device should connect to the "guest" network automatically. Otherwise, see the troubleshooting section here.

Note: Fullerton College does not issue guest credentials for Eduroam
