How to Add/Remove a Toshiba Printer on a Mac

Note: The following instructions work for all network printers.  You will need to take note of the model number and printer queue name for your specific printer.  This information should be available on a sticker on the printer.  If you cannot find this information on your printer, please contact the ACT Help Desk via phone or email at 714-992-7111 & [email protected]

The instructions below use the following Model, and Printer Queue as an example, please use the Model and Printer specific to your area.

Model: Toshiba e-Studio7518A

Queue: FcA3500-Ptr1

How to Remove an Old Network Toshiba Printer on a Mac

For Macs Running MacOS Big Sur or Monterey.

1. Go to the Apple menu, select System Preferences, select Printers and Scanners.

2. In the Left-Pane, click to select an existing printer, then press the minus (-) symbol to remove it.

For Macs Running MacOS Ventura and Sonoma.

1. Go to the Apple menu, select System Settings. In the Left pane, scroll to the bottom and select Printers and Scanners.

2. In the Right pane, click to select a printer. The option to Remove Printer appears. Click and select “Remove Printer”

How to Add a New Network Toshiba Printer on a Mac

For Macs Running MacOS Big Sur or Monterey.

1. Go to the Apple menu, select System Preferences, select Printers and Scanners.

2. In the Printers and Scanners window, click on the (+) Plus symbol to add a new printer.  

For Macs Running MacOS Ventura and Sonoma.

1. Go to the Apple menu, select System Settings. In the Left pane, scroll to the bottom and select Printers and Scanners

2. In the Printers and Scanners window, click the Add printer, Scanner or Fax… option.

3. Click the Globe icon to add the network printer.

4. Please enter the information for the printer you would like to connect to when filling out the Queue, Name, and Location boxes.

(Please note: As you type the Server name in the Address box, the Name box will automatically copy what you type. This is ok during this step. You will type in the correct name of your printer in Name box at step 5).

Protocol: Line Printer Daemon  LPD

Queue: FcA3500-Ptr1

5.  Name: FcA3500-Ptr1

Location: Room 3500

Use:  Click on the Pull-down menu, click Select Software.

The Printer Software window appears.

Type in the Model name: Toshiba

and select the TOSHIBA MonoMFP option.

Click OK.

4. Verify the Printer settings and then click the Add button

5. The printer options window appears. Use the Model Selection field for your printer model, then click OK.

6. The Printers and Scanners window appears with the Printer(s) that are installed. Close the System Preferences window.

How to Set to Default a Network Toshiba Printer on a Mac

1. Go to the Apple menu, select System Preferences, select Printers and Scanners

2. In the lower right corner of the window, click the Default printer pull-down menu and select a device.
