How to Use Adobe Creative Cloud at Fullerton College

Overview: Fullerton College provides Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) access to students via Device-Based Licensing in participating on-campus labs and assigned remote FC Labs, and to staff with approved work-related needs via campus issued devices. This guide explains how students access Adobe in labs (on-campus or remote) and how to gain staff access (via IMS approval).

Prerequisites

Students:

  • An FCNet student email (e.g., [email protected]) and MyGateway password for lab access.
  • Enrollment in a course with lab permissions (confirm with instructor).
  • A personal email (e.g., [email protected], not FCNet) for Adobe sign-in; account creation is free.
  • For remote access: A device with Windows 11 (preferred), Windows 10, or macOS, and a stable internet.

Staff:

  • An FCNet staff account (e.g., [email protected]) with an Adobe license assigned by ACT (must be approved).
  • A campus workstation with Adobe installed (via Company Portal for campus devices). 

General: Access to on-campus labs (e.g., Computer Lounge) or assigned access to FC Remote Labs (https://fclabs.fullcoll.edu/).

Instructions

Option 1: Students – Use Adobe in On-Campus Labs

  1. Log Into a Lab Computer:
    • In a lab (e.g., Computer Lounge, building 500), sign in with your 8-digit student ID (e.g., 12345678) and MyGateway password.
    • Wait for the Windows desktop to load.
  1. Launch Adobe:
    • Double-click the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop icon. (Or try searching for the specific Adobe product such as Photoshop)
    • At the login screen, enter your personal email (e.g., [email protected], not [email protected]).
      • If no account, click Create an account to set one up (free; no subscription needed for lab use).
    • Select Personal Account if prompted.
  1. Use Apps:
    • Wait for Adobe Creative Cloud to load (updates may take 1–2 minutes).
    • Double-click desired app shortcuts (e.g., Photoshop, Acrobat).
    • Save work to a USB drive or OneDrive.
  1. Log Out:
    • Close Adobe apps.
    • Click Start > user profile > Sign out.

Option 2: Students – Use Adobe in FC Labs Remote Labs

  1. Access FC Labs:

  2. Launch Adobe:
    • On the virtual desktop, use the same instructions as above (Option 1, Step 2):
      • Double-click Adobe Creative Cloud.
      • Sign in with your personal email (create an account, if needed).
      • Select Personal Account.
  3. Use Apps:
    • On the virtual desktop, use the same instructions as above (Option 1, Step 3):
      • Wait for apps to load (1–2 minutes for updates).
      • Launch apps via shortcuts (e.g., Illustrator, Acrobat).
      • Save work to OneDrive.
  1. Log Out:
    • Follow FC Labs logout steps (Start > Sign out, Citrix > Log off, close browser).

Option 3: Staff – Use Adobe on Campus Devices

  1. Verify License:
    • Submit service request to ACT with IMS approval for Adobe and use case.
    • Confirm with ACT that your FC staff email account has a license.
    • Adobe should be pre-installed on your campus workstation (Windows 11, via Company Portal).
  1. Launch Adobe:
    • Double-click Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop on your desktop.
    • Sign in with your FC staff email credentials (you should not have to create an account).

    • Use the same instructions as above (Option 1, Step 3):
      • Launch apps after updates load.
      • It is recommended to save work on cloud storage, such as your OneDrive.
  2. Log Out:
    • Close apps and sign out, if required by your division.

Notes

  • Device-Based Licensing: Students access Adobe via lab computers; no personal device licenses are provided (post-COVID program ended July 2021).
  • Staff Licensing: Requires IMS approval and ACT license assignment; personal device installation is restricted to work purposes.
  • Personal Email: Students use a non-FCNet email for Adobe.
  • Lab Locations: Check with your instructor for on-campus lab locations and hours.

Can I use my Student FCNet email for Adobe?
No, use a personal email (e.g., [email protected]) to sign into Adobe. FCNet is for the lab login only.

Can students install I Adobe at home?
No, student access is remote lab-only via Device-Based Licensing. You must purchase a personal subscription if you want home use.

Why is my lab missing?
Confirm course enrollment with your instructor. For troubleshooting beyond your instructor - email [email protected] with your Banner ID and CRN.

Staff: Why can’t I access Adobe?
Verify IMS approval and license with ACT. Ensure Adobe is installed via Company Portal.
