How to Reset Your Student FCNet Password

Overview: Your FCNet account password (e.g., for [email protected]) is synchronized with MyGateway and must be reset through the MyGateway portal. This article explains how to reset your student FCNet password using your Banner ID.

Prerequisites

  • Your 8-digit Banner ID (e.g., 01234567, found in MyGateway or enrollment documents).
  • Access to the default delivery method (e.g., phone) for a One-Time Passcode (OTP).
  • A device with a web browser connected to the internet.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to MyGateway:
  2. Enter Your Banner ID:
    • In the Username field, enter your 8-digit Banner ID (e.g., 01234567).
    • Click Continue.
  3. Select Reset Option:
    • Choose Reset Forgotten Password.
    • Click Continue.
  4. Receive and Enter OTP:
    • A One-Time Passcode (OTP) will be sent to your default delivery method (e.g. phone).
    • Enter the OTP in the provided field.
    • If you don’t receive the OTP, select Problems with the OTP? and follow prompts or contact ACT (see Support).
    • Click Continue.
  5. Create a New Password:
    • Enter a new password meeting these requirements:
      • At least 10 characters long.
      • Must not contain < or the sequence &#.
      • Include 3 of: lowercase, uppercase, numbers, symbols (e.g., @#$%^&*).
    • Confirm the password in the second field.
    • Click Continue.
  6. Log In:
    • Click Try to continue logging in to access MyGateway.
    • Use your new password for MyGateway and FCNet services (e.g., Office 365 at o365.fullcoll.edu).

Notes

  • Password Sync: Your FCNet password syncs with MyGateway. Always reset via MyGateway, not Office 365.
  • Processing Time: Resets are immediate but may take up to 15 minutes for changes to reflect on your Microsoft account.
  • Banner ID: If you don’t know your Banner ID use the Forgot Username link on the MyGateway page, or check enrollment documents or contact Admissions and Records.
  • Policy Compliance: Passwords must follow NOCCCD’s Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Complex Issues: For MyGateway issues beyond Tier 1 (e.g., system errors), ACT will escalate to NOCCCD IS HelpDesk.

What if I don’t have my Banner ID?
Check your enrollment confirmation or contact Admissions and Records. If enrolled, visit Building 500, Room 517 with a photo ID.

What if I don’t receive the OTP?
Select Problems with the OTP? to try another delivery method. If issues persist, contact [email protected] or call (714) 992-7111.

Can I reset my password via Office 365?
No, student FCNet passwords must be reset through MyGateway due to synchronization.

What if I get an error during reset?
Note the error and contact [email protected] or visit Building 500, Room 517 for assistance.
